HR Transformation Advisory

Get Workday right, and your people ready for it.

Independent advice for organisations implementing Workday, from partner selection and governance through to go-live, ownership and continuous improvement.

Why advisory

Your partner builds the system. Who's looking after you?

Implementation partners are focused on configuration and the go-live date. What often falls back on you is everything else: the decisions, the data, the testing, the training and making sure your organisation can actually run what was built.

We've led Workday programmes from the client side. We know the questions to ask early, the scope traps to avoid and what “ready” really looks like.

Where we can help

em-ply Delivery Assurance

Support at every stage of your Workday journey

Bring us in before you sign, part-way through the build, or after go-live. Each phase stands on its own.

  1. Phase 1

    Before implementation

Workday has been chosen, or nearly. This is where the most avoidable risk sits, so we help you set the programme up properly before the build starts.

    • Requirements and readiness assessment
    • Implementation partner selection and SOW review
    • Data cleansing and migration planning
    • Governance, roles and decision-making
  2. Phase 2

    During implementation

While your partner configures and builds, we keep design decisions moving, protect your scope and timeline, and check the work is fit for your organisation.

    • Design decisions and workbook support
    • Integration and security oversight
    • Testing strategy and UAT support
    • Scope and change-request control
  3. Phase 3

    After go-live

The focus shifts from launch to improvement: stabilising, refining reporting and making sure your internal team can own the tenant with confidence.

    • Hypercare and stabilisation
    • Reporting and dashboard refinement
    • Release management and regression testing
    • Internal ownership and training

Working together

Two ways to engage

Keep the partner you have and add an independent advisor, or let em-ply lead with advisory built in.

Option 1

Independent client-side advisor

Another partner is building your system. We sit on your side of the table: owning the plan, challenging scope and change requests, keeping governance tight and getting your people ready to run what's built.

  • Works alongside your existing partner
  • Advice that's independent of the build
  • Flexible: a few days a month up to full-time

Option 2

Delivery with advisory built in

em-ply leads the programme. The same people who shaped the plan stay to deliver it, with readiness, data and adoption covered from day one rather than handed to someone else.

  • One team, one plan, one point of accountability
  • Delivery and readiness run together
  • Support continues after go-live

FAQs

Workday advisory questions

Can't see your question? Get in touch and we'll answer it directly.

What is Workday implementation advisory?

Strategic, independent support for the organisation implementing Workday. Your implementation partner configures and deploys the system; an advisor helps you manage governance, make decisions, control scope and prepare your people to own the system after go-live.

How is that different from what our implementation partner does?

Your partner is responsible for building the system to the agreed scope. We're responsible to you: we challenge assumptions, review design decisions and change requests, check testing and readiness, and make sure what's delivered works for your organisation.

When should we bring in an advisor?

Ideally before you sign the statement of work, when scope, resourcing and timelines are still open. We also help programmes that are already running, especially when timelines are slipping or decisions are stuck.

What happens after Workday goes live?

We support hypercare and stabilisation, refine reporting, help you manage Workday's twice-yearly releases, and hand over to your internal team with the documentation and training they need.

Is HR transformation only about Workday?

No. Workday is often the centrepiece, but transformation also covers your HR operating model, processes, data and how people work. We help with all of it, whichever platform you use.
